This is a practical course exposing students to problem solving skills of Adult disorders and problems. Students engage in problem solving activities with clients at Nuru Counselling Centre and other sites. They are supposed to engage clients through therapy, prepare Confidential Clinical Reports with accurate diagnosis and treatment plans. They also administer appropriate psychological tests. They make presentations of Clinical Reports and Audiotapes for critical assessment by the peers and primary supervisor. At this level, the students are expected to demonstrate competence and professionalism.
WEEK 1: 20/09/2022
Overview of the course outline including the practical expectations of the course done through 4 Clinical Reports of work done with adult clients and 3 Audiotapes recorded with adult clients too. A lot of emphasis is put on how the student psychologist extern uses techniques to facilitate clients with problem resolution.
WEEK 2: 27/09/2022 TO WEEK 15: 6/12/2022
4 STUDENTS PRESENT CLINICAL REPORTS AND/OR AUDIOS IN CLASS. Feedback is given by the peers and primary supervisor. The feedback is given through open critical evaluation of the presentations.
