Course description
The unit will equip the learner with the knowledge, develop skills and attitudes to be able to apply principles of patient centered nursing in medical/surgical conditions affecting pediatrics.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course the student will be able to:
1. Demonstrate health assessment on a pediatric patient
2. Discuss growth and development of children.
3. Describe the management of common paediatric conditions and congenital disorders
4. Explain patient centered care in pediatric emergencies.
5. Explain the concept of Integrated Management of Newborn and Childhood Illnesses (IMNCI)/ETAT
