Purpose
This course aims at developing the competencies and skills needed to effectively manage public health programs in the community. It will cover the basics of management and leadership to enable a graduate handle resources and responsibilities better.
Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, learners should be able to:
- Describe the methods of achieving economic sustainability of health projects;
- Manage scarce resources to achieve maximum outputs in health projects;
- Describe the cost benefits of health projects in order to determine their viability;
- Apply proactive leadership and management skills;
- Apply prudent management of financial resources;
- Recruit and retain and retain competent public health human resources; and
- Participate in policy formulation and implementation.
